The daughter of María Luisa Hidalgo and Moisés Pasquel, Silvia was raised by her mother’s second husband, Luis Pinal, a Mexican journalist and politician. In her childhood, she lived in several cities, such as Querétaro, Acapulco, Cuernavaca, Puebla and, finally, her family settled in Mexico City.
